Engage Cuba Supports Cuban Government Move to Lift Cruise Ship Travel Ban

WASHINGTON – Following today’s announcement by the Cuban government that the country will, for the first time in decades, allow Cuban and Cuban-Americans to travel to and from the Island via cruise ships, James Williams, President of Engage Cuba, released the following statement praising the decision:

“This historic decision by the Cuban government truly showcases the power of engagement. This major change would not have been possible if we had continued a failed isolationist policy. Now that Cuba has changed its travel policy, it is time for Congress to finally lift the travel ban so all Americans can travel freely."
