Engage Cuba Hails Carnival Cruise Deal

WASHINGTON – Engage Cuba Member Carnival Cruise Line announced today in Havana that it has reached a deal to offer United States to Cuba cruise ship services after the U.S. Coast Guard assessed that Cuban ports meet international port security standards and lifted the Port Security Advisory on Cuba. James Williams, President of Engage Cuba, released the following statement praising the deal:

“This historic deal between Miami-based Carnival Cruise Line and Cuba is a perfect example of how the earth has moved in relations between our two countries. We are seeing a monumental shift in not only U.S.-Cuba relations, but a new chapter being written between Miami's Cuban-American community and the people of Cuba. Engage Cuba is proud to support its members like Carnival Cruise Lines who have made it clear that a new relationship is good for both the American and Cuban people."
