Engage Cuba Statement on President's Call to End the Embargo Against Cuba

WASHINGTON – Following President Obama’s final State of the Union address, James Williams, President of Engage Cuba, issued the following statement:
“President Obama’s historic decision to jumpstart normalization with Cuba has not only opened up exciting opportunities for travel and commerce between the two countries, but has also led to truly bipartisan action in Congress to end our failed policy of self-isolation toward Cuba. We agree with President Obama that it is time to end the embargo. Engage Cuba is proud to be working closely with Republicans and Democrats in Congress as well as the Administration to get rid of outdated laws that hurt American farmers and businesses, as well as the Cuban people.”
