The United States' newly thawed relationship with communist Cuba likely won't mean Oregonians buying Cuban cigars at Lancaster Mall any time soon. However, it might mean Cubans could start to see Oregon onions, pears and cherries appearing in hotels and restaurants.

It’s too early to tell what will come from this week’s visit by President Barack Obama and his family to Cuba - both politically and economically - but one outcome could be increased agricultural sales of Oregon products to the island.
